Cernunnos by Saevus Cernunnos by Saevus
Drawing of the Celtic god Cernunnos, a god of fertility and animals, done for a good friend of mine. Hopefully it'll somehow be translated to a tattoo for him.

Hi

I'm writing an article (for a free french webzine : [link]) on men and sacred males/divinities.
Can I use your a reproduction of your creation (with your credits and link of course) ?
Thanks for your attention !
Regards,

Xael

Thanks! Cernunnos is one of the main figures for the Lord. It's hard to find art work portraying the masculine because the Lady is more idolized. And I understand.

Yes, that's fine. I'm generally okay with that sort of thing as long as it's not being utilized for commercial uses. Thanks for letting me know though.

I like the variety of lines in this, and the way you've framed the illustration :)

Thanks. It seems to be getting pretty popular, even though I think it needs some changes.

This is gorgeous line-work...the trees, animals, shading, and composition is right on! Cernunnos Himself is great, but I do have to agree that his arms are attached strangely, and that his legs seem much bigger compared to his waist/midsection. I could be off here, but if he didn't have such a wasp waist, I might not have even noticed.

hee hee. He has goat eyes.

The image I tried to portray of a man that is powerful but aged and maybe a tad bit more frail than he would have looked in his youth came across a little awkwardly. I think it's negligible though.

Goat eyes? That's definitely not intentional.

wow that's stunning, I love the smooth lines of the trees and the snake, its like the whole thing has a hidden celtic knot feel to it.

Beautifully portrayed :)

That's some awesome inking you've got there. I love the skull-snake. <3 His arms connect weird to his body though. He looks like he needs a shoulder rub. >.> Other than that, it looks great. I love the composition and the idea. :)
