I am a professional illustrator from Virginia. I work with a large variety of media, and although I have done fine art, illustration and design work for a variety of clients, I mainly specialize in album covers and t-shirt artwork for heavy metal bands.

I really like how you draw your swords and weapons 
Do you use a lotta historical references, or at least used to to the point that it's kinda just second nature now? I can't say I know much of the subject matter myself but it definitely has that kind of feel to it

Yeah, that sounds about right. I'm mainly influenced by other fantasy art for that kind of thing, but as with anything like that I try to reference from life and history enough that I have some realistic grounding in how those things actually work. That way I can try to avoid drawing armor that wouldn't allow the wearer to move around or actually be protected and weapons that would probably be more likely to injure the user than a foe, even if they are heavy stylized.
